Family members are often left out or forgotten when someone is struggling to get alcohol misuse or alcohol dependence under control. They can often feel confused, frustrated, angry, helpless and alone. We believe alcohol misuse affects all of the family. Because taking care of, or living with someone else’s alcohol misuse is very challenging and often exhausting, we have developed a programme of support for people who are directly or indirectly affected.
About the Family Programme
Our Family Programme will provide you with the education and therapeutic support to help you reduce the anxiety, stress and confusion that often comes from watching a loved one struggle with alcohol misuse or dependence. The programme is run one evening a week for a period of ten weeks and is aimed to:
- Help promote healing by identifying how addictive behaviour in others can impact you.
- Show what family members can do to take care of themselves.
- Educate and support you through a combination of therapeutic sessions and educational workshops.
- Run one evening a week for a period of ten weeks
